Annapolis EZ|Energy Zone removes many of the hurdles facing home owners who want to reduce their energy usage. The program provides an opportunity for residential property owners to receive financing for energy efficiency improvements through a voluntary assessment on their home. Property owners must pay taxes to the City of Annapolis to qualify. The program offers:
- Virtually no upfront cost to the property owner
- Financing that does not affect the property owner's credit score
- Financing that will often pay for itself in full through the savings on the energy bill
- Financing that will stay with the property, even after transfer of ownership – the new owner will take over the repayments
- One-on-one assistance navigating the energy audit and the complex decision-making process
